Introduction
AChat is a messaging app for keeping up with the people you choose: personal chats, groups, communities, and anonymous rooms when you'd rather not use an account. It runs in your browser at achat.aoneahsan.com and on Android, in English, Spanish, French, German and Arabic.
There's no phone number to hand over. You sign in with Google, pick a username, and friends find you by that username, an invite link or a QR code. Anonymous rooms need no account at all.

What it doesn't promise
- Anonymous isn't untraceable. Anonymous rooms don't need an account, but your device still connects to AChat's servers, as it would for any website.
- Not everything is end-to-end encrypted. AChat promises end-to-end encryption for personal chats, private groups and rooms with a password. It doesn't promise it for communities, their channels, open rooms or status updates. See Security & encryption.
- No calls. AChat is for messages. It doesn't make voice or video calls.
- Some chats record location. A chat can turn on device and location history, and it tells you what it records before you enter. See Device & location history.
- Nothing already seen can be recalled. Anyone in a chat can copy, save or screenshot a message, and deleting it later doesn't reach those copies.
Used AChat before?
AChat was rebuilt. Your anonymous room links still open, with their messages and kept rooms, and any extra keep days you'd earned carry over. Personal chats with people you know, groups, communities and status are new, alongside anonymous rooms.
