Quick Start
Pick someone you already talk to and send a hello. That's the whole first step. Chats is where AChat opens, and every conversation starts there.
Chat with someone you know
- Open achat.aoneahsan.com, choose Use an account, then Continue with Google.
- Choose a username. It's how friends find you.
- Save your recovery key when AChat shows it. It's the only way back to your history if you lose every device, and AChat shows it only once. See Devices & recovery key.
- Open Contacts and add someone by username, invite link or QR code.
- Once they accept, open the chat and send a message.
The label under your message says Sending, then Sent once it has arrived.
Chat without an account
- Choose Continue anonymously, then Create room, or Join room with a link or ID someone sent you.
- Pick a display name, 1–24 characters. It's the one thing others in the room see, and rooms never show when you're online or last seen.
- Share the room's link. Anyone with it can join, unless the room has a password.
A room's messages are kept for a set number of days after each one is sent, 10 by default. Someone with an account can keep the room longer.
When the connection drops
Chats you've opened stay readable, and new messages wait with Waiting to send until you're back.
